The Southern Poverty Law Center Removed 255 Black Separatist/Nationalist Groups from Hate Map.
2017: SPLC wrote an article titled RETURN OF THE VIOLENT BLACK NATIONALIST. Quote: In general, Black Nationalist hate groups espouse hatred toward whites, the LGBT community, and Jews.
The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) removed their Black Separatist term filter from their hate map around the end of 2020. January 2021 is the last archive of the results themselves. The SPLC cites “equity” as part of their reasoning in one of their October 2020 posts:
Equity Through Accuracy: Changes to Our Hate Map
In pursuit of a more accurate and more just hate map, the Intelligence Project (IP) has committed to collapsing the Black Separatist listing. We will still monitor these groups, but we will be transferring them to hate ideologies, including antisemitism, that better describe the harm their rhetoric inflicts.

In another post in October 2020, they state that the removal is also to not aid the FBI as well as to recategorize for accuracy:
The goal of the reclassification is to reflect a more accurate description. Black Separatist groups have earned their place on the SPLC’s hate map not for their calls for separation, but how entrenched these groups are in antisemitic, anti-LGBTQ, misogynistic and xenophobic rhetoric. The change also aims to expose these groups without helping to aid the FBI in its definition of Black Identity Extremists.
Like many organizations in the recent past, the SPLC was not completely captured by the Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity (D.I.E.) movement pushed by illiberal, non-progressives who identify as the opposite of what they are. While the SPLC may have previously downplayed the violence committed by radicalized black individuals under the sway of violent ideas, such as I highly doubt it was part of their fund raising efforts, this removal is what I consider nearly 100% capture.
In 2017, the SPLC published a piece titled Return of the Violent Black Nationalist, quote:
Black Nationalist hate groups espouse hatred toward whites, the LGBT community, and Jews.

In 2016, they wrote a piece titled Dallas Sniper Connected to Black Separatist Hate Groups on Facebook:
Dallas Sniper Connected to Black Separatist Hate Groups on Facebook.
Micah Xavier Johnson, the man identified by police as the sniper who shot 12 law enforcement officers at a protest in Dallas last night, was a fan of black separatist hate groups monitored by the Southern Poverty Law Center.
This “equity” “reassignment” removed the ability quickly discover the core proselytizers of the radical ideology:
SPLC didn’t remove their articles and the map is archived.

If the alleged perpetrator isn’t white, the mainstream press usually doesn’t mention skin color or their ideological affiliations.
A recent example is WaPo’s now deleted tweet implying that a wild SUV went on a rampage.
I’ll bet that many who rely on the mainstream left-labeled press for their news, don’t know that Darrell E. Brooks Jr., who killed six and injured more than 60 children and women by ramming his SUV into them, is black. They also probably don’t know that his social media postings indicate (not prove but indicate) that he may be radicalized by black separatist ideas, including those espoused by the Black Hebrew Israelites. His actions of murdering and maiming white women and white children might be a massive clue.
Here I re-quote the SPLC article Return of the Violent Black Nationalist:
Black Nationalist hate groups espouse hatred toward whites, the LGBT community, and Jews.
“I don’t like whitey because he is white” is not just part of an SNL skit from the 80s.
On the other hand, a white teenager who shot three white people, was labeled a white supremacist repeatedly. The Saturday after Kyle Rittenhouse was found not guilty, a man and a women, decades long acquaintances, were talking about this where my close friend works, a spiritual book shop in South Carolina. The man stated that he was glad Rittenhouse was found not guilty. The women was exceptionally shocked, “He killed three black people!” The man replied that all the people involved were white (also, one them is not dead). She didn’t believe him and Googled it. It’s no wonder she was confused as Rittenhouse’s name is forever soiled as it’s been associated with white supremacy constantly—even by Biden when he was campaigning.
A Rise in Violence against Jews
The mainstream left-labeled press has reported about the rise in violence against Jews (WaPo, NPR, BBC, and The Conversation*). What they fail to mention is many of these crimes are committed by black people and not just the usual white suspects. The small exception is the WaPo article, which mentions the Black Hebrew Israelites once far down in the body of the article.
*The Conversation is not mainstream, but they have a good reputation on the so-labeled left.
Tablet Magazine, considered left-center, reported on the rise of violence against Jews in New York:
De Blasio has also repeatedly insisted that the attacks against Jews in New York are driven by a white supremacist movement connected to Donald Trump despite clear evidence that this is not the case and, in fact, many of the attacks are being carried out by people of color with no ties to the politics of white supremacy.

A black journalist in the New York Post (this source considered right or center right) has reported on this.
Among the Black Hebrew Israelites are a group of street crazies masquerading as a religious sect. The Southern Poverty Law Center lists that sect as a black separatist hate group because of its anti-white and anti-Semitic beliefs.
If Thomas and the Jersey City pair were radicalized by an association with the Black Hebrew Israelites, that would give credence to attorney Brad Gerstman’s belief that a “radicalization of Jew-haters” is happening on social media and in nontraditional settings, thereby making it harder for law enforcement to keep tabs on them to thwart attacks.
The NY Post also published a piece titled What the left doesn’t want to mention about New York City hate crimes in which they observed:
Blacks comprised seven of the nine anti-Jewish hate-crime perpetrators arrested during the third quarter.
