Let's use reincarnation as a concept and suppose a man was a woman in his last life and now his brain is confused for some mystical reason. SO WHAT?
Let's say a man was in a war in his last life and lost his arm in battle. And now, let's suppose, he's got Body Integrity Identity Disorder (BIID) where he wants to amputate his arm. Should we celebrate and "affirm" that he hire a surgeon or DIY arm amputation so he lives his so-called "authentic" self? That’s diabolical.
Let's suppose that a teenage girl who has anorexia was overweight and ridiculed by idiots in her previous life. Should we affirm her as the fat girl she erroneously thinks she is? That’s preposterous.
Similarly, if a woman or man really feels that she or he is the opposite sex deep inside, she or he needs psychological help to accept herself or himself. That is it. Otherwise you’re supporting extreme body mutilation — castration and amputation — to conform with thoughts.
Irrespective of the existence of a reincarnating soul, or a one and done cosmology: now is now. Any wholesome (or wholesome-ish) faith system worth a sh*t won't prescribe living in the past, living beyond your practical circumstances, or constantly thinking about how you are hard done by 'cause you're not in the right body.
Consider what is this fiction called “trans”? Why do females get their breasts amputated (bilateral mastectomies)? Why take part of a colon (or peritoneal tissue or some other tissue) to form a faux vagina on a male who couldn't grow an adult penis because his puberty was suppressed?1 Why block sex hormones in girls and boys starting as young 9 years old?2 Sex and secondary sex organs are affected. Gender organs do not exist!
Also consider that our brain is not fully mature until about 25 years old. The CEO of our brain, called the Prefrontal Cortex, matures last. Our Prefrontal Cortex is the part of our brain responsible for, among other things, long term decision making faculties. No matter how a human being identifies, or how uncomfortable a person feels within her or his body, there is no category of humans whose Prefrontal Cortex matures more than a decade earlier than everyone else.3
What selfishness to behold; it is Authentic Selfishness.
Adopt animals and take care of someone else. Volunteer at a nursing home and change bed pans. Go to a shanty town in Mumbai and live for a week in their shoes. See how all the fanciful ideas of wrong body works out for you.
How about a wrong life?
No one asks to be born; we all get what we get. That doesn't mean just sit back and take your lot with a smile, but if you are born under the luck of being able to think about anything other than finding your next meal, you're not perpetually itchy, you're not perpetually smelly, you're not sleeping 10 to a mat in a small room in Ahmednagar or a dunged-together hut in Delhi, you are lucky.
This is from Jazz Jennings surgeon, Dr. Marci Bowers (a man who has had extensive medical treatments to present as his opposite sex), I changed some words (in brackets) for clarity: To date, the options for [male patients for faux vaginal canals] have been limited to traditional human linings of the area, aggressive tissue mobilization or use of very expensive donor graft material (Repliform, DermaPure, Alloderm, Integra). Jazz Jennings (via the TLC show, “I am Jazz”) was the most public example of how this can be a challenge. Fortunately, Jazz [is a young man, a boy of 17 at this time who had his puberty suppressed from 11 years old] benefited from a newer technique whereby the abdominal sac (peritoneum) can be used to harvest a portion of itself for the purposes of lining the vagina and received excellent depth. Unfortunately, harvesting of the peritoneum is expensive, somewhat risky, invasive (it is done via laparoscopy) and not available everywhere surgeons perform vaginoplasty procedures. Furthermore, Jazz’ limited amounts of skin put strain on other portions of [his] tissues in the region causing her to have [a] second (albeit, unhelpful) operation and then still a 3rd operation to achieve an acceptable result.
